At Flemings Chapel, we focus on what matters most: loving God and loving people. As Micah 6:8 reminds us, we strive to walk humbly, act with kindness, and pursue justice with a spirit of compassion. Our desire is simple: to serve the Lord with grateful hearts and honor Jesus in all we do.
There’s nothing more joyful than the arrival of new life — whether in a family or in the family of faith. We believe one of our greatest callings as believers is to share the good news of Jesus with others.
With grateful hearts, we proclaim Jesus as “the way, the truth, and the life”–the One who offers forgiveness, hope, and a restored relationship with God. Our desire is that every person would experience the new life found only in Him.
Flemings Chapel began in May of 1869, when a small group of believers gathered with a shared desire to plant a Baptist church in what was then known as the “burnt school house” community. Their prayers were answered when Robert Fleming generously donated land for the new church—a gift that inspired the name Flemings Chapel Baptist Church.
Over the past 150 years, the church has grown in both ministry and mission. Flemings Chapel has ordained pastors, sent out missionaries, and remained steadfast in its commitment to the Bible, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, and missions.
The congregation has worshiped in several buildings over the decades—starting in a simple log cabin, then a clapboard structure later covered in brick, and even enduring the loss of a beloved sanctuary to fire. The current building was dedicated in 1988, but through every change, the heart of Flemings Chapel has stayed the same: a faithful people trusting the Lord, encouraging one another, and walking together in obedience and faith.
