Senior Pastor

David Payne

Pastor David returned to Flemings Chapel in September of 2018.  Previously, he had been our senior pastor from 1989-1995.  David's wife, Lisa, a registered nurse, is not only his best friend, but a sweet and caring lady who loves music.  David earned a Master of Theology degree with and emphasis in pastoral ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Piedmont International University.  He has served as pastor in Lenoir; Raleigh; and Charleston, SC.  Also, David has for years been a professor of Bible and Theology on the college level, regularly teaching at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida and New York.

In addition to spending time with family, David is an avid sports fan. He also enjoys illustrating his sermons with helpful stories that convey the meaning in his messages.

Worship Leader

Danny Craig

Danny Craig is our worship leader, and he serves with a heart for the Lord.  With congregational singing that mixes traditional and contemporary songs of worship, Danny plans a service that is geared toward taking us to the person of Christ through music.  Danny and his wife Penny are dedicated folks, quite likely to be found serving someone in the fellowship hall, or doing for others.   Danny's heart for the Lord comes through, whether singing with a Southern Gospel group, leading the choir or praise team, or volunteering with the local volunteer fire department.

Administrative assistant

Diane Teague

Diane is the newest member of the Flemings Chapel staff.  She came onboard in October of 2020. Previously, Diane worked for the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners, and the Caldwell County Health Department.  Her years worth of experience make her a valuable resource.  Diane has desire to help people, which she demonstrates with a kind and cheerful attitude.  Diane and her husband, Paul, make their home in Lenoir.
